RGB Leds

Through my purchasing actions in China I found a great way to buy RGB Led strips in china for a very fair price. The next picture shows such a RGB Led strip.

The strip consists of 3 section of 3x3 Leds. So a total of 27 leds, 9 red, 9 green and 9 blue .

I also found a RGB controller, consisting of just 3 potmeters no effects and stuff like that, that could control up to 10 strips. So I decided to use 10 strips. This is in fact the only small mistake I made, more on that later. Quality from china is always a bit poor, shipment is the most expensive, so I ordered 12 strips. After arrival some testing on the floor:

To be able to mount the strips in an easy way I took a strip of wood (in fact just some skirting board) with some adhesive on the backside. I wanted the strips to be equally distributed between floor and ceiling so I did some simple math work. I wanted to use 10 strips, so that would make 5 strips per side distributed over 245cm (which is the height of my ceiling). One strip measures 27cm. So I have 135cm of strips and thus 110cm of free space. 5 strips means 6 spaces so that would make 18,3 cm of space between each strip.
